Ontario has some of the largest and most diverse Highland Games in all of North America and, to some degree, it's not surprising. A beautiful and at times rugged province situated centrally in Canada, Ontario has a rich history of celtic traditions supported by the large influx of Scottish and Irish immigrants who journeyed to Canada in the 1800s. Ontario has changed considerably from its early days as a home to celtic immigrants and it is now a large, cosmopolitan province that enjoys some of the best Highland Games in the world. Ontario has a very active celtic community and add this to the temperate summers, it ensures that almost every Highland Game here is worth attending.

[Glengarry High Games][1]: One of the largest Highland Games in the world with more than 60 years of history. About four hours northeast of Toronto. Games held August 1 and 2nd, 2008.
