  • Chapter 9: Dawn of a New Age. The coming of the Indurstria Age saw the decline of the landed aristocracy and, with that new social and political forms. This change was reflected in dance, with the gradual passing of the Minuet and the introduction and eventual spread of dances such as the Quadrille, Waltz, and Polka. The Quadrille was a group formation dance, consisting of four (hence the quad part of the name) couples. Originally consisting of complex and itechnical movements and steps, it would devolve into a dance where the participants walked through the patterns.
